All You Need To Know about Google’s Link Schemes

For link construction, you need to be aware of Google’s criteria for link schemes. These are links that have a detrimental effect on a website’s search engine rankings. As a result, your site may be deleted from the search rankings and lose all of its visitors. As far as connection schemes go, there are three basic categories:

1. Links meant to manipulate PageRank

2. Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging

3. Buying or selling links that pass PageRank

Link schemes must adhere to Google’s rules. “Any links designed to manipulate PageRank or a site’s ranking in Google search results may be deemed part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines,” it states. Google’s Webmaster Guidelines warn against “excessive link trading” or partner pages just for the purpose of cross-linking,” as well as “buying or selling connections that convey PageRank.”

The following are a few more rules of thumb:

Page names should be original and precise.
The “description” meta tag should be used.
Make your URLs more logically structured.
Make it simple for visitors to find their way through your website.

According to Google’s Webmaster Rules, link schemes that do not adhere to these guidelines will be penalized by the search engine giant. Google defines a link scheme as any “link-based” attempt to manipulate search engine results.
According to Google’s definition, the following are link schemes:

Links aimed for manipulating the PageRank of a website Selling links, exchanging products or services for links, or offering someone a “free” product in return for them writing about it and inserting a link are all examples of this practice. Links with optimized anchor text in articles or press releases published on other websites are other examples. This may be seen in the difference between a website that publishes meaningful material that isn’t overtly promotional, and a website that publishes numerous anchor-texted links in the content.
