If you’re looking to boost your website’s search engine optimization, you’ll want to make sure it’s linked back to by reputable websites. This can be done through a variety of methods; however, one of the most important things you can do is check the quality of websites that link back to yours.

There are several ways to go about this:

To begin with, you should check the site’s backlinks. You can find out how many backlinks a site has from its backlink profile. If a site has a lot of backlinks, it’s probably not a bad idea to check those links. If they aren’t spammy, it might be worth reaching out to see if you can get some of those links as well.

Additionally, take a look at their Alexa rank. Essentially, this tells you how many people visit the site, and it’s usually a good indicator of how popular and well-known they are. You can check this by going to Alexa’s website.

Check for broken links on the websites that link back to yours, as well. If there are broken links on a website that links back to yours, it may mean that they are either not taking care of their site or they don’t have enough time or manpower to maintain it properly. Either way, this is not an ideal situation because it means there’s likely more maintenance issues on their site than just a few broken links, and these could lead to problems with your own site.

Lastly, one of the most common ways to check the quality of a site is by using a tool like Moz Open Site Explorer or Ahrefs. These tools allow you to view metrics such as Domain Authority and Page Authority. These metrics are calculated based on a number of factors, including how many backlinks each website has, what anchor text is used in those links, and how many social shares each page receives. You can also use these tools to see which sites are linking back to your own site and how much traffic they send. However, none of them will tell you whether those links were earned through good content or were purchased from someone else.
