Keywords and Their Role in SEO

Keywords are the words you use when you’re writing copy for your website. They’re usually short, about two to four words in length, and they describe what your site is about. The more relevant your keywords are to what you’re trying to sell, the better!

For example, if you have a site about hiking boots, then “hiking boots” would be a good keyword. However, if you’re selling something else entirely, like t-shirts or phone cases or even just a blog, then “hiking boots” isn’t going to help you much. That’s because people searching for hiking boots are probably looking for information on buying hiking boots; they want to read reviews of different brands and styles, learn about features like durability and waterproofing, and figure out which ones fit into their budget. If your site has nothing but hiking boot reviews, then there’s no way anyone will find it through search engines like Google or Bing unless they already know exactly what they’re looking for.

When we talk about keywords in SEO, we’re not just talking about the words people type into Google. We’re also talking about the words that appear on your website and in your articles. These are called “on-page” keywords, and they are vitally important for SEO. You need to make sure your site’s optimized for the keywords people are looking for. This means that you need to know what those keywords are and then use them strategically in the content on your site and on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram!

If you want to make sure your website shows up when people search for certain keywords, you should use them in your title tag and meta description. The title tag is the text that appears at the top of every page on your site; it should be short but descriptive enough that someone browsing through search results would want to click on it. The meta description is quite similar. It’s displayed below the title tag in search results, but it doesn’t have a character limit. It should include some important information about what people will find on the page so that they’re encouraged to click through!
