You can’t just go on Reddit or Quora and spam your content. You have to actually be there, answering questions, making friends with people in the community, and sharing interesting things you found elsewhere.
Then, when you do create your own content, it’s important that it fits into what people are already talking about in the community. Don’t try to force your own agenda onto the conversation. Instead, try to find out what other people are interested in and talk about that!
There are several things you can do to make sure your content marketing efforts are successful. We’ll go over some of them.
Firstly, make sure that your content is on-brand. This means that it should be relevant to your business and have the same voice as all of your other content. If you sell makeup, then all of your content should be written in a fun, playful tone. If you sell legal services, then everything will be more formal and serious.
Next, make sure that your content is engaging and valuable. You want people to read it and share it because they think it’s interesting or helpful, not just because they like the brand name on it!
Additionally, once you’ve created some good content for yourself, start sharing it with other websites that are relevant to yours. Make sure that these sites are relevant in terms of topic. For instance, if you’re writing about makeup tips for women over 50, then don’t approach a site about dog grooming. Similarly, make sure those sites have an audience size close to yours. If there are 20 million people reading a blog about beauty tips, then don’t approach one with only 100 readers.
The key thing about content marketing is that it creates value for your audience. If people like what they read on your site or watch in your video, they’ll want their friends and family members to see it too! So instead of just promoting yourself as an expert in your industry, you’re also helping others learn something new or solve problems that they have been having trouble with lately.
