00:06 Quality Backlinks: How to Determine Where Your Competitors are Getting Their Links From
00:13 The Importance of Monitoring Your Competitors’ Backlinks
01:06 How to Check Your Competitors’ Backlink Profiles
When you’re trying to get backlinks, it’s important to know where your competitors are getting their links from.
There are a lot of reasons why this is true. The first reason is that it allows you to see what types of content work best for your industry. If you see that your competition has been getting a lot of links from guest posting on blogs, then you can start doing that too.
The second reason is that it can help you find people who might be interested in linking to your site as well. Maybe there’s a blogger who’s writing about topics similar to yours who would be happy to write an article for your site, or maybe there are other websites in your space that would be willing to share an article with their audience if they thought it was relevant enough.
The third reason is that sometimes, the companies and blogs that give out links will also have partnerships or affiliate programs available for their readers. And if they’re already linking out to their competitors, then they may also link out to your site as well!
Moving forward, whether you’re trying to get a link from a website or just keep tabs on your competitors, there are some great tools out there that can help you track down the source of links. Here are three of our favorites.
The first tool is Ahrefs. This tool is great for finding out where your competitors are getting their links from. The tool has an extensive database of over 100 million backlinks and helps you find new opportunities by analyzing the backlinks pointing to your website.
The second tool is Open Site Explorer. Another great way to find out where your competitors are getting their links from is through Open Site Explorer. This tool is owned by Moz and gives you access to a free report about all of the backlinks pointing to any given website, including yours!
The last tool we’ll be talking about is Majestic SEO: This tool takes a slightly different approach than Ahrefs or Open Site Explorer because it looks at “domain authority” instead of just backlink quantity when calculating its score for each domain. As a result, Majestic SEO gives you more information about what makes up domain authority and how each element contributes to it overall.
