Viewing backlinks is crucial to understanding how search engines view your content. Links are like votes. The more links you have pointing to a page, the more authoritative that page appears to be. In order to improve your rankings in SERPs, it’s important that you understand which sites are linking back to yours, where they’re linking from, and what kind of content they’re sharing.

When you’re viewing backlinks pointing to your site, it’s important to keep track of the number of links that point directly from your domain vs. those that come from other sites. If more than half of the links on the first page are coming from domains other than yours, this can indicate that your site is not being linked as much as others in its niche. This may indicate that there’s some room for growth in terms of establishing yourself as an authority in your field or industry.

It’s also important to look at the anchor text used by other websites when linking back to yours. If the majority of these anchor texts contain keywords related to what you do, then this could be an indication that others see value in what you offer and want others who may be interested in it to check out your business, too.

Moving forward, the easiest way to view your backlinks is to use Google Search Console. It’s free, and all you have to do is go to Google Search Console, sign in with your Google account, then click on “Search Traffic” on the left side of the page. Then, click on “Links To Your Site.” You’ll see a list of all the sites that link to yours.

However, if you want more details about those links and how they’re ranked, another tool called Ahrefs is really good. It costs $99 per month but provides detailed information on every link pointing to your site.

Another way to view your links is by using Moz’s Open Site Explorer tool. This tool is free. Just go to https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/, sign in with your Moz account, or create a new one, then search for the URL of your site. You’ll see a list of pages that link back to it.
